Interview an older adult who is at least 65 years old to get a viewpoint of the changing roles of older adults.

Use the Sample Interview Questions provided, make adjustments, or construct your own interview questions appropriately to get details on the senior’s experience to incorporate in your reflective paper.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word reflective paper in which you describe what you learned from the interview.

Include the following in your paper:

  • Differences in roles of seniors and perspectives toward them
  • Economic and social changes that led to varied experiences
  • Impact of marketing on retirement and financial decisions for seniors

Include the responses from the following in your reflective essay:

  • Senior citizen interviewed
  • Senior citizen’s peers that influenced the senior citizen being interview.
  • Your own experiences as you imagine yourself as a senior

Aging Population And Ageing Population

The world ‘s population is aging as a result of decreasing mortality and better medical services. In the past, there were more children than the elderly, but it has become completely opposite in the recent decades. An increase in life expectancy is one of the causes of the aging population. The aging population is currently at its highest level in human history. There are the number of people who one aged 60 years old and over has tripled since 1950. It is believed that the senior and geriatric population will reach 2.1 billion by 2050 (Clayton, 88). As a consequence, aging global population influences the structure of the population, the structure of society and labour force causing.

Aging population is widespread across the world. The more elderly there are, the more benefits to improve technology and management. On the contrary, it cannot control the tendency of aging. The phenomenon of aging population has been noticed in the more economically developed countries, but more recently it has been reported in less economically developed regions. According to The Oxford Institute of Aging Population, concluded that the aging population in Europe has moderated down considerably and will have the significant future impact in Asia, especially as Asia is in stage five of the demographic transition model.
