Power of our diverse U.S. culture

Topic:

Some experts have suggested that, in order to spark the U.S. economy and strengthen the power of our diverse U.S. culture, and to allow young people to move on with their lives and bring their ideas into the mainstream of commerce, the US government should act to forgive student tuition loans taken to finance education through the BA level. Do you agree or disagree?

Compose a thesis to defend, one that has the following form: For US citizens, loans taken to pay for tuition through the BA level should (or should not) be forgiven.

Then, go online and search library databases and reputable online sources churned up by search engines. Please carefully screen and investigate your sources for bias. Try to lean on sources that generate arguments from facts. If you find ideological bias behind source materials, be sure to acknowledge that bias if you use information from such a source.

Next, compose a four-paragraph essay built of these sections:

1. An introductory paragraph that concludes with your composed thesis sentence

2. Two body paragraphs, each of which begins with an underlined topic sentence that starts with a transitional marker and offers one reason in support of your thesis. Each body paragraph then will cite at least two outside sources, as well as any other development you think necessary. Be sure to join the information with strong, clear internal transitions.

3. A conclusion that does not repeat your point but that reflects on the issue and explains how students and the country will be better off if your advice is accepted.

The conclusion of an expository essay of our type will answer the implied question “So what?”

***Use a minimum of four authoritative, credible online and print sources to support your argument, at least two sources in each body paragraph.
